PINHOLES
Dust on screen, in coater, or in air
Keep area clean, wipe down fan blades and grilles, use air filters. Follow proper degreasing & drying instructions.
Oils
Do not touch screen after degreasing. Skin oils will negatively affect coatings.
New screens may contain residual processing oils. Always degrease new screens thoroughly with image mate Degreaser 260. Follow proper degreasing & drying instructions.
Other contaminate particles
Follow proper degreasing & drying instructions.
Poorly dissolved photo initiator
image mate Diazo Sensitizer Powder photo initiator must be completely dissolved in water before adding to DZ or DC photoemulsion. Use luke-warm water to aid dissolution; do not use hot water.

Air entrapment
Allow freshly sensitized photoemulsion to de-air overnight.
Coating speed may be too fast. Follow proper coating instructions.
Coating is too thin
Apply more coats of photoemulsion (wet on wet) from the squeegee side of the screen.
Do not remove wet photoemulsion from the screen with the coater after coating.
Poor positive
Check positive image or exposure unit glass for dirt or unwanted marks. They will develop as an open area on the stencil, thus allowing ink to transfer through.
